Community Support for Yeshiva Atlanta

Community Coming Together was the theme for December 2004 at Yeshiva Atlanta (YA). On December 12, the sixth night of Hanukkah, over 2,700 patrons from across Atlanta supported Yeshiva Atlanta’s Gala Event featuring Itzhak Perlman and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. The community helped us overcome a chilly challenge when cold weather pushed our boiler to breaking point. Undeterred by the freezing temperatures and warmed by space heaters, community women filled the cafetorium to enjoy a delicious dinner and a spirited musical, Meshuganah Monday, in which a mother and daughter switch places. The community further extended  itself when Greenfield Hebrew Academy, Davis Academy, Torah Day School and Congregation Or V’Shalom generously offered its facilities as auxiliary classrooms.

YA's entire school switched over and held classes at the GHA for the last three days of school in 2004, where we were royally hosted in good Southern tradition.  Finally, the last Shabbat in December, the Young Israel of Toco Hills extended itself financially and rose over $175,000 towards YA’s Ensuring Our Future campaign. Yeshiva Atlanta thanks the entire community for its support of our school.

As a Beneficiary Agency of the JFGA, Yeshiva

Atlanta received an allocation of $146,438 for

FY-05.
