The Jewish Federation would like to thank Mark and Linda Silberman for the generous gift match opportunity given to The PJ Library.
Atlanta’s Jewish community is increasingly diverse, and ensuring that everyone feels welcome in our community has never been so important to the future of Jewish Atlanta. Through the PJ Library, which provides free Jewish-themed and age-appropriate books each month, parents can create a special time with their children to learn and appreciate their Jewish heritage. You can help children learn about Jewish traditions so they will connect with their heritage and become involved in our community.
PJ Library stands for Pajama Library. The program was created by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation in Massachusetts to encourage fun and educational bedtime reading, and it is funded nationally in partnership with local philanthropists and organizations. In Atlanta, The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta partners with the Marcus Foundation to offer enrollment to local families. The PJ Library is one of the most exciting and successful programs for engaging young Jewish families. Atlanta is one of 125+ communities across the country, with over 55,000 subscribers. “Providing kids with fresh, appropriate reading material each month stimulates their minds at every stage of development,” said Federation president Steve Rakitt. “It also provides an opportunity for parents and children to spend quality time together while learning about Jewish traditions.”
The Silberman match program helps you give more children an opportunity to receive these high quality, age-appropriate books. For a minimum gift of 10 subscriptions over 2 years ($1200), Mark and Linda will match fifty-percent of your gift.
