The Jewish Women’s Fund of Atlanta is a new initiative offering opportunities for women in the Atlanta Jewish community to achieve greater influence and increased impact by pooling their philanthropic resources. This fund provides a vehicle for women to support Jewish women- and girl-centered causes.
By bringing Jewish women together, the JWFA seeks to promote hands-on change for Jewish women and girls here in Atlanta, across the United States, in Israel, and around the world. JWFA, sponsored by Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, will create lasting social change in the lives of women and girls in the Jewish community.
The Fund is structured as an inclusive organization governed by all of its members. All donors become Trustees of the Fund. The Trustees identify the needs and priorities impacting women and girls; design and implement the grant-making process; manage the Fund’s fiscal operations; and create educational and leadership learning opportunities for the trustees.
During the year, Trustees participate in educational forums to learn first-hand about the myriad of issues facing women and girls. The Trustees together decide which areas to fund and, once grants are made, will be kept advised on the impact of those grants. As the program grows, it will become increasingly self-sustaining.
All Trustees will have an equal vote in the grant-making process. As a Trustee of the Jewish Women’s Fund, you can be an agent for change and positively impact the lives of countless Jewish women and girls. Please help us guarantee a bright future for generations to come.
Women join JWFA with varied backgrounds and experiences, yet each shares a strong desire for women to grow, learn, and experience equality. Our membership of talented, intelligent, and motivated women will make a difference in the lives of Jewish women and girls in Atlanta, Israel, and throughout the world.
