When can I go? When can I register?

Each year there are two rounds of Birthright Israel Trips. Summer trips run May through September, and Winter trips run December through March. Registration for summer trips is typically held mid-February, and registration for winter is held in mid-September.

To be considered for a trip, applicants must complete their entire application and put down a $250 refundable deposit.

Who will I travel with?

There are several different options for who you will share your experience with. The typical way of experiencing Birthright is to go with a group made up of people from all over the United States. However, there is the option of going on a community trip. Community trips are composed entirely of people from the same area. The Atlanta trip itinerary is customized for our community. The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta is proud to send three groups every year from the Greater Atlanta area. (See below for more information regarding Atlanta’s Community Trips)

If you are in college, it is possible that your school’s Hillel offers a Birthright trip for students at your University. Contact your campus Hillel to see if this is an option available to you.

Am I eligible?

To be considered for a spot on any Taglit-Birthright Israel trip, one must meet all of the following requirements:

• Applicants must be between the ages of 18-26, and out of high school at the time of registration.
• You must have at least one parent who identifies with Judaism, and you must self-identify as Jewish and not with any other religion.
• If you have been to Israel before on any peer based trip at any age, you are NOT eligible for Birthright. Examples of peer based trips are (but not limited to) Camp Trips, Youth Group Trips, Confirmation Trips. If you have been on a trip before, and are not sure if your trip disqualifies you, please contact the trip provider you plan to apply through.
  
  Exclusions for this rule include:
• March of the Living (must go on Birthright after turning 22)
• Middle School trips to Israel- participants on a middle school trip now may be considered eligible for Birthright barring further Israel experiences as mentioned above
