What We Do

We support numerous programs and services which:

  • introduce preschoolers to Jewish values
  • help teens form lifelong connections to their Jewish roots through youth enrichment programs, summer camps and trips to Israel
  • offer adults meaningful exposure to Jewish life through education and leadership seminars
  • provide the elderly with critical support services
  • enrich the lives of special needs populations
  • provide immigrant populations with the tools they need to adjust to Jewish American life
  • help Jews in worldwide humanitarian crisis through rescue and relief efforts
  • aid immigration and absorption in Israel
  • supply critically needed healthcare services to the medically under-served in the former Soviet Union and Israel
  • support Israel's social and economic vitality

We work with Jewish institutions to better serve the local and global community.

  • We collaborate with agencies on programming and facilities, such as the Meyer Balser Center
  • We respond to the changing needs of our community, such as new initiatives that bring expanded programming to the northern arc of our community.
  • We partner with overseas agencies to ensure the most cost-effective approach to meeting Jewish challenges all over the world.
  • We give voice to your concerns and help present the Jewish perspective on local, national and international issues.
  • Our Community Relations Committee is the central public affairs organization whose members advocate on legislative issues of importance to the greater Atlanta Jewish community.

We are the central source of information and referral for Atlanta's Jewish community.

  • Whether you're a newcomer or a native, our Outreach program will help connect you to Atlanta's Jewish community.
  • Our www.ShalomAtlanta.org website offers immediate access to everything Jewish in Atlanta, national and local Jewish news, a community directory, a calendar of events, and online donation.

We strive to make Atlanta a better place for all citizens.

  • Our literacy initiative brings volunteers to the city's most insulated youth to improve their reading skills and ultimately, their opportunities for a better life.
  • Our coordination of Jewish volunteers for Atlanta's Hunger Walk results in thousands of meals for the homeless.
