The Business and Professions Division (B&P) of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta encompasses men and women 37 and older who are entrepreneurs and leading professionals in all business sectors. In addition to the numerous and beneficial peer networking opportunities available, involvement in B&P offers members exciting and meaningful opportunities through which they can fulfill the mitzvah of Tikkun Olam, "repairing the world" through the education, outreach, and leadership training and development programs sponsored by the Business and Professions Division.
Leadership Development
Women's Network
Women's Network is an initiative that encourages, develops and implements programs that empowers the lives of Jewish women. It provides a forum for interactive and proactive activities that is dedicated to supporting and encouraging women to reach their fullest potential while encouraging involvement in not only the Jewish community, but the Atlanta community at large.
The signature program for the B&P Women's Network will be "Heart and Soul Institute" which will be an annual event (debut October 2003) addressing a compendium of issues, challenges and events that business and professional women encounter in their daily lives.
Entrepreneur of the Year
The Entrepreneur of the Year award seeks to recognize an outstanding Jewish business leader whose accomplishments are made possible by the entrepreneurial spirit. That person with the incredible depth and character that entrepreneurs possess whether they are developing ways to improve and expand business opportunities or improve the quality of life for the people around them. This event will include an Award Ceremony and Gala (to be held in November 2003.
"Atlanta to Israel...People to People"
Set up similar to the after 9/11 broadcasts with the U.S. military. An "esteemed" Israeli representative and an "esteemed representative of the Atlanta Jewish community will act as moderators. A cross section of Israelis (the "average" man on the street, soldier, families, professionals, kids) will be able to "tell their stories" then both sides can ask questions and make comments.
Take advantage of these unique opportunities by making a minimum gift of $1,000 to the 2003 Campaign for Community Needs.
