Scholarships are available based on need.  Applicants must provide the Israel Experience Program Coordinator with financial data (through FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment), an acceptance letter from the Israel program, and a short personal essay. It is also suggested applicants provide a written letter to the committee about their financial situation. Award recommendations are individually based.

Please note that all applications are reviewed confidentially.  Every application is assigned a number and all personal information is removed during the review process.

Who is Eligible?

• Jewish teens ages 15-19. This age range covers freshmen in high school through the first year of college.
• The applicant and/or their parent (s) must currently be residents of metropolitan Atlanta (Metropolitan Atlanta includes all counties that are part of the service area of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta.)
• The applicant must be enrolled in an approved Israel Experience educational program. The trip length should be a minimum of 2 weeks in Israel or a trip that includes 1 week in Israel or another country/region of comparable Jewish experience. Please note that Birthright or family trips are not approved Israel Experience programs/trips.
• Applicants can apply every 2 years for a need-based scholarship as along as they are in the required age range.

MASA

The Government of Israel launched a need-based scholarship program called MASA ("journey" in Hebrew) for high school students up to age 30 who want to attend an Israel school or program for at least 5 months. Applications can be downloaded from www.israelexperience.com but the applications MUST BE SUBMITTED to the school chosen at least 60 days before the start of the program.
