State, Local Officials Serve Our Jewish Community

The Community Relations Committee (CRC), comprised of representatives from local organizations and community members, works to increase awareness among public policy makers of issues that impact our Jewish community. Contributing to the CRC's effectiveness in pursuing this goal is the active participation of seven local Jewish elected officials who serve on the CRC. They include State Senators David Adelman (D-42), Liane Levetan (D-40) and Renee Unterman (R-45); State Representatives Doug Teper (D-42, Post 2) and Michele Henson (D-55); Cobb County Commission Chairman Sam Olens (R); and Marietta City Councilman Philip Goldstein. Each has played an important role by enhancing the CRC's understanding of legislation, policy issues, political trends and effective advocacy methods. In addition, they serve as influential ambassadors who understand and help convey the needs and concerns of our Jewish community.

"We're very honored to count our Jewish elected officials as active members of the CRC," said Margo Dix Gold, Community Relations chair for JFGA "There is no question that the expertise and commitment of these public servants contribute to the CRC's effectiveness."
