The Weber School Makes A Lifelong Impact

The Weber School has seen first-hand how Jewish education within a high school environment makes a tremendous difference. Such an environment adds to the intellectual development and stimulation of each student and the school has been shown to enhance classroom performance, resulting in significant college acceptance rates. Tikkun Olam and the wide array of extracurricular activities offered at Weber also promote character development and helps graduating students prepare to face real issues.

Deeper ties are also forged with Israel and Judaism overall. Seniors at the Weber School can participate in "The Israel Experience," a program that allows them to spend their last high school semester in Israel exploring their Jewish identity. Currently in its fourth year, program activities include hiking Masada, davening at the Kotel, participating in archaeological digs, swimming in the Dead Sea, visiting Rabin Square, planting trees and much more. Seniors participating this year include Meredith Dolgin, Samantha Gabai, Tammy Gary, Jenny Guss, Jamie Kersh, Steven Marks, Leetal Ofer, Zack Rosenzweig, Brittany Tenenbaum and Alix Tillem.

Many graduates have traveled to Israel and become active in campus events that support their faith and Jews worldwide. "This is learning for the sake of doing; to make things better," explained Sim Pearl, Head of School. Each individual uses that learning to further themselves, their friends and the entire world around them."
