Through the Lens

A new documentary takes a first-person look at life in Israel.

When Eileen Snow Price decided to visit Israel in November, 2003, she knew that despite the continuing violence in the region, it was a trip she would never regret. As co-chair of the Federation's Israel mission, along with Dr. Harry Heiman, Price was determined to show each participant the importance of supporting Israel at this volatile time.

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit scared, but honestly, I'm more scared of what will happen if more Jews don't visit Israel," she said. "I'm an American, but Israel is also my home."

The documentary, The Chosen Journey, showcases Price's experience in her own words. Shot over the course of eight days, the 30 minute film gives viewers the chance to see Israel beyond the news headlines. The emotional documentary offers a rarely seen glimpse of Israel that will inspire audiences, whether Jewish or non-Jewish, committed supporters of Israel or those who have little or no connection to the Jewish State.

Produced in conjunction with Gravity Filmwerks and Unique Film, The Chosen Journey debuted at the Selig Center at a public screening in February and aired throughout the months of March and April on Jewish TV in Atlanta.
