When planning a bar or bat mitzvah, wedding, or even a 50th birthday party, the invitation often sets the tone for the entire event. But a simcha is more than just the chance for guests to have a good time, it can also be an opportunity to do a mitzvah for your community.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, working with Canterbury Press, is pleased to offer personalized invitation packages, with a portion of the proceeds going to support the Federation's Campaign for Community Needs. Seven-piece packages include invitations, response cards, thank you notes, insert cards and matching envelopes and are available for $12.50. Text for the invitations is customized by the sender.
"My husband Mark and I felt so good about starting off our celebration that way," says Marlene Haber, who used the invitation to kick off a b'nai mitzvah celebration for her twins last March. "We are already planning to use the invitation again when we plan our next child's simcha in 2006!"
Two templates created by Federation may be used for invitations for virtually any occasion – be it a bris, birthday, engagement party or baby naming. Each design features a colorful graphic of the old city of Jerusalem with a quote from Anne Frank on the back that reads, "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world." The back of the invitation also states that a donation has been given in the recipient's honor.
